Irene Fan Yi - Playwright & Dramaturg 

Irene Fan Yi is a playwright, director, and dramaturg whose work explores dystopian landscapes, fractured identities, and the fragile human connections that emerge in times of crisis.

Holding a Master of Arts in Theatre Studies from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Indiana University, she brings a multidisciplinary approach to storytelling, blending poetic language, movement, and multimedia elements.

Irene has worked as a director, dramaturg, and performer in productions such as The Reaper and The Whale (Davis Shakespeare Festival), The Pillowman (Indiana University Bloomington), Night, Mother, Twelfth Night, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Her work is driven by a commitment to experimental forms, sensory storytelling, and the exploration of existential themes in contemporary theatre.

Based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
